Munshi’s Hotel and Restaurant

Munshi’s sits right on the Srinagar–Gulmarg Road in Tangmarg, a short drive from the Gulmarg Gondola and Apharwat Peak. It started as a restaurant serving Kashmiri and North Indian food to travellers on this road, and the rooms came later — which is still how we run things, food first, rooms right above it.

Our rooms are simple, clean, and properly heated for Tangmarg’s cold winters, with hot water and daily housekeeping. Guests usually remember the food more than anything else — Rogan Josh and Gushtaba cooked the traditional way, and staff who’ll tell you honestly what the roads look like that day.

Ate at the restaurant and the food quantity is alot, worth the price. Half plate is good enough for three people. We were 2 of us and struggled to finish our Jeera rice and chicken rogan josh. Service was excellent as well.
